Solid Fermentation Defoamer
—
According to the physical properties of the medium, fermentation methods can be divided into two categories: solid fermentation and liquid fermentation. Solid fermentation is a biological reaction process without free water, featuring simple operation, low energy consumption, easy process control, relatively low sterility requirements, and low risk of large-scale contamination. However, foam problems often occur during this process. Recently, our sales department received a call from Mr. Zhou, who reported significant foam generation during solid fermentation. These foams are difficult to eliminate spontaneously and tend to accumulate, so we recommended our solid fermentation defoamer and sent samples for trial.

Why does solid fermentation produce a large amount of foam? What are the causes of foaming?
1.The amount of foam during fermentation is related to stirring and aeration intensity. Higher aeration and stirring intensity can lead to increased foam generation.
2.The properties of the medium also affect foam production. Nutrient-rich media, especially proteins, are one of the main factors causing foaming.
3.During the growth cycle, rapid microbial growth and reproduction release large amounts of carbon dioxide, leading to significant foam generation.
4.The fermentation pH value influences foam formation. pH changes can destabilize solid fermentation and cause foaming.
What are the impacts if foam in solid fermentation is not eliminated in a timely manner?
1.Excessive foam can cause overflow, leading to waste of fermentation bacteria and environmental pollution, as well as significant liquid loss.
2.Excessive foam hinders gas exchange, affecting the respiration and metabolism of solid fermentation bacteria, resulting in poor fermentation performance.
3.Foam generation disrupts the normal fermentation process and procedures, reducing fermentation efficiency and increasing production costs.
4.Unremoved foam will remain inside fermentation equipment, reducing equipment utilization.
Facing various problems of foam in solid fermentation, why is solid fermentation defoamer used? What are its advantages and characteristics?
1.High concentration with low dosage, excellent defoaming and antifoaming effects, featuring rapid defoaming capability and long-lasting antifoaming performance.
2.Stable chemical properties, resistant to high temperatures, acids, and alkalis, without affecting the fermentation environment after use.
3.Good water solubility and dispersion, without layering or precipitation.
